This unit is routinely cross-staffed with personnel from Engine 402. Volunteers often offer dedicated staffing during inclement weather events and the vehicle is also available for moving personnel and equipment to and from training drills and for a variety of other department needs.
When staffing is available this unit serves as the command vehicle for a Volunteer Command Officer – VC402. It is appropriately equipped with multiple radio heads, command boards and a pull out skid for extended incident management.
