You all certainly made our holidays merry & bright!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for not only meeting our fundraising goal for Operation Save Santa’s Sleigh — but exceeding it! Your support allowed us to reach $77k (over $27K more than our original goal) for Vienna’s Antique Fire Engine, our 1946 Maxim.
We’d like to acknowledge the tremendous outpouring of support for our Save Santa’s Sleigh fundraiser to help with repairs to our 1946 Maxim fire engine. Our hope was to have the Maxim back in time for the town’s annual holiday stroll, to help Santa travel around the town to drop off ornaments, and our beloved Santa Run’s traditions. Unfortunately, the Maxim needed a lot of work and will not be back in time. We are still helping with getting Santa around town in our current volunteer fire engine. While we’re heart broken the elves can’t work their magic as quickly as we’d hoped, your contribution ensures the Antique will be in amazing shape for Santa for many years to come.
While the Maxim won’t make it in time for Christmas, we’re still planning to thank all those that have supported us. Once it is back, we want to showcase it around town, and celebrate the exceeding our fundraising goal and helping the Santa’s Sleigh live on for many more years to come. We have asked Santa if after Christmas he’d be willing to come spend the first part of his “vacation” with us to help thank the community for their support. He said he will if Mrs. Clause hasn’t planned a trip yet, so we’ll keep you posted when we have something scheduled.
Again, a huge THANK YOU for your support.
Have a safe and wonderful holidays and visit our website (VVFD.org) for the latest 2025 Santa Run schedule.
