Over the past several weeks, members of the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department (VVFD) conducted pre-delivery inspections of two new VVFD transport units. The future Ambulance 402 built by Demers, and future Medic 402 built by Horton are both mounted on Ford F550 chassis and will contains the most modern technology and equipment including automatic loading and unloading systems which reaffirm the VVFDs commitment to providing the best possible service to our community. These new units will be put in service after their arrival in Fairfax County towards the end of the year. Ambulance 402 will be staffed by VVFD volunteers, and Medic 402 will be staffed by career firefighters an paramedics from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and will be supplemented by VVFD volunteers. Both units will provide emergency medical services to the Town of Vienna and Fairfax County for years to come.
